- If you were a volcano, what would you tell the world about your eruption?

By researching a volcanoes activity we can determine where the safest areas
are to view, whether to evacuate, which areas are likely to be damaged,
where to set up research equipment and many other volcano related items.
In the process of locating this information, we can also become familiar
with the WWW and how to search for information.
Using the WWW for an information source, and the video equipment for producing a school news broadcast about a currently erupting volcano.

- Become familiar with the WWW by researching a currently active volcano
in VolcanoWorld.
- Draw very simple, bold, graphics that can be used to show the activity
of a volcano.
- Organize and film a newscast, using the graphics you created.
- Present your newscast to your school.
- Digitize and install the graphics and newscast to your school web site.

- In groups of 2-4, surf one of the above sites to locate information
about a currently active volcano.
- Organize a newscast to discuss the activity of the volcano. Discuss
topics such as:
- Current status of the volcano.
- Recent warnings
- Whether of not the volcano has already erupted and if it has, what
the result of the eruption was.
- The safest viewing locations
- How close tourists can get and viewing locations.
- Local weather report.
- Any other pertinent information.
- Draw simple, bold graphics showing the activity.
- Tape your news presentation and show your work to your school!
- Digitize your graphics and newscast and place it on your schools web
site.
