Hi Ralf,
I think the best place to get such a data base would be the Global
Volcanism Network of the Smithsonian Institution. They have a gopher page
at the following address:
gopher://nmnhgoph.si.edu:70/00/.docs/GVN/about
The data base is not there but an address for contacting them is there,
and you could write or call.
