I suggest you contact the Scientist in Charge or Deputy Scientists in
Charge at one of the U.S. Geological
Survey's Volcano (Alaska, Cascade, or Hawaii) Observatories.
The USGS phone book
might help. I am only familiar with the observatory in Hawaii. They would
conduct tours of the observatory for geology groups from universities.
