How many volcanologists have been killed while studying volcanoes?

I don't know of a complete list of volcanoligsts that have been killed,
but here are a few events. These come from Volcanoes of the World, by Tom
Simkin & Lee Seibert

| Guagua Pichincha | 1993 | 2 |
| Hekla | 1947 | 1 |
There have been many more fatalities than these, and particularly in past
years some of those fatalities might have been volcanologists. It's just
that they were not singled out in the reports.
