Is it true that Hawaii is made of lava?

Dear Danny,

It's true. I lived there five years and I saw basalt, basalt, and more basalt. I did go over to Kauai and saw some reef rock (limestone). It was great to see something besides basalt. But those beautiful islands are just big pile of lava.
