What happend to all the snow and ice on the summit?
I am refering to the eruption of Mt. St. Helens in May of 1980.

rocky Shawn Murphy

Dear Shawn,

Some of the snow and ice melted to help feed the lahars that went whooshing down the river and stream valleys the morning of the eruption. The rest was included in the big avalanche that removed the north flank of the volcano. It slowly melted after the avalanche came to rest.
