When the volcano erupted, obviously all the effects were bad. In 1997 what remains of those bad effects, and what can be considered the good effects in 1997?

Are you asking about Mt. St. Helens? If so the plants and animals are returning. Some lumber has been salvaged. Drainage systems are gradually returning to normal but probably still with heavy loads. And the state and local economy is still booming from tourism.
