How wide is the vent of Mt.St.Helen's? If it erupts again will we be able to feel it in Indiana?

Dear Dusty,

I think you are asking about the crater at Mount St. Helens. It is about 0.6 miles (1 km) in diameter.

I was in Indiana in 1980 going to school to get a geology degree. I didn't feel the eruption. If it erupts again I think we'll have to go visit Washington if we want to feel it.
