Can you tell me about one of the most important eruptions of Mt.Fuji and describe the eruption (was there any damage involved)?

rocky Jess

Dear Jess,

Fuji has had several large eruptions. Fuji has erupted at least 16 times since 781 AD. None of these eruptions has caused fatalities. Only five have caused damage. The largest recent eruption, in 1707-1708, had a VEI of 5. I do not know of a detailed account of any of the large eruptions.
