Hi Craig,

Fuji's historic eruptions were in 781, 800, 802, 826, 830, 864, 870, 932, 937, 952 and 993 (not confirmed), 999, 1017 (not confirmed), 1033, 1083, 1427 (not confirmed),1511, 1560, 1627 (not confirmed), 1700, 1707, and 1709 (not confirmed). The 1707 eruption was the largest (VEI=5)(see xxx). None of these eruptions caused fatalities. The eruptions in 800, 802, 864, 932, and 1707 caused damage. Sorry, I have no estimates on the cost of the damage. You might try to find the Fuji reference listed below. Source of Information: Simkin, T., and Siebert, L., 1994, Volcanoes of the World: Geoscience Press, Tucson, Arizona, 349 p. look for: Tsuya, H., 1955, Geological and petrological studies of volcano Fuji. Part 5: on the 1707 eruption of the volcano. Bull. Earthq. Res. Inst., Univ. Tokyo, 33: 341-383.

Sincerely,
Steve Mattox
