I am living in Auckland. The eruptions of the Volcano Ruapehu have
been televised here (and I think over the world) and triggered my interest
in the subject. Rangitoto, Ruapehu and other volcanoes are so close here
that I felt that ideally all citizens of this country should be aware of the
possibilities and escape mechanisms......however, I have no idea of how
to connect up to the NZ Civil defense authorities or even if such
enquiries would be welcome at all. Does this bit of information help you
tailor your advice for me in any way?

Ministry of Civil Defense.
They have information on personal preparedness. You can also send them
messages (and questions).
