Dear Alfredo,

I have to admit I'd never heard of Roccamonfina before. I found a reference to it in "Historical Unrest at Large Calderas of the World" by Chris Newhall and Dan Dzurisin. They describe Roccamonfina as a stratovolcano about 18 km in diameter with a 5-6 km-diameter main caldera. They are uncertain whether or not there really has been any historic activity there, but there are old Roman writings that have been interpreted to have been Roccamonfina eruptions.
