Please can you inform me if there are any further sites that have similar rock formations as a result of volcanic activity as seen in Northern Irelands' famous Giants Causeway.

Yes, there are many places where that particular type of formation (called "columnar jointing") can be found. However, I think that those at the Giant's Causeway are probably some of the finest and most beautiful. Two sites in the US are Devil's Tower (Wyoming) and the Devil's Post Pile (California).
