Will any of the populations in the U.S. will be effected by the volcanic eruptions in the western U.S.?

Dear C.J.,

Populations in the western United States will be effected by future eruptions. People living near the Cascades are most likely to feel the greatest effects. It has been 15 years since the eruption at Mount St. Helens. You might want to visit Mount St. Helens - " Fire & Life " in VolcanoWorld to see how that eruption impacted nearby residents. The U.S. Geological Survey's Cascade Volcano Observatory maintains a homepage that describes the eruptive history and volcanic hazard assessment of each Cascade Volcano.
