How can there be a volcano in Alaska, lava is so hot and Alaska is so cold?

Dear reader,

The heat for the lava comes from inside the Earth. The magma does not begin to cool until it reaches the surface. It might cool a little faster in Alaska relative to Hawaii but it would probably be hard to notice. The lava is much hotter that the air (even if it is cold Alaskan air).
