Susannah GillVolcanic risk depends on the exact location. For example, living 30 miles from the volcano and in a valley may have a much higher risk than living 10 miles from the volcano atop a hill. Living downwind has a higher risk than living upwind. Living near a frequently active volcano might have well known risks; living near a long dormant volcano will have a low risk, unless shallow earthquakes begin suddenly.
Sincerely,
John Dvorak
