What are the best children's books on volcanoes?

The best book for young people about geology is How the Earth Works (see reference below). It contains a few excellent demonstrations on how volcanoes work.

Farndon, J., 1992, How the earth works: The Readers Digest Association, Pleasantville, NY, 192 p.

Probably the best children's book about volcanoes is Volcanoes: Earth's Inner Fire, by Sally Walker. Published in 1994 by Carolrhoda Books, c/o The Lerner Group, 241 First Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN 55401

There are a few lessons and activities for K-3 students in Learning About Volcanoes
