Monitoring Volcanoes

Geologists are like detectives. They try and find out answers by looking at evidence. Most of the evidence they look at is found in Nature.

From this information they know what kind of activity to expect from a volcano.

If the volcano begins to show patterns of earthquakes that may lead to an eruption, the geologists can forecast an expected eruption.

They also study the volcano's day-to-day activity.
