Koko Crater

Koko Crater, a tuff ring, formed by the interaction of magma and water. Koko Crater is the tallest tuff ring (1,207 feet, 368 m) in Hawaii. The persistent trade winds caused the ash to accumulate on the southwest side of the ring. Slide courtesy of the Peter Mouginis-Mark, Hawaii Space Grant College.
