Colima, Mexico
This is a view of Colima volcano (on the left) from the southwest.
Colima volcano threatens the city of Colima (out of view to the left and
the capitol of the state of Colima), but it is actually just across the
boarder in the state of Jalisco. The main danger to Colima city is from
pyroclastic flows and giant avalanches. Lately the activity has been
relatively minor and confined to the uppermost slopes. An older volcano
sits to the right.
