molokini1

Molokini is a partially sunken volcano crater that has formed a volcanic islet just off the coast of Maui. Molokini until a few years ago was used as a naval bombing range. It is now a sanctuary for marine life and is one of Maui's most breathtaking snorkeling spots. Snorkeling cruises (seen in the image) usually depart from Maui in the morning. The sunken crater rim protects the area from winds. The calm and clear water allows visibility all the way to ocean floor (over 300 feet) - Prabhu Ram
