World Organization of Volcano Observatories (WOVO)

Monitoring of the Azores volcanoes is being carried out by fumarole temperature measurements in S. Miguel island, measurements of ground temperature in Faial island (Capelinhos volcano) and telemetered seismic stations in S. Miguel, Terceira, S. Jorge, Pico and Faial islands. A development of the programme of volcanological surveillance is projected. In this programme, are included more telemetered seismic stations, in Graciosa.
